it would be best to just go to best buy and snatch one up. they're not that badly priced anymore for what you get. mine for example. 1.7 dual core, 1 gig of ram, i believel a 120 gig hard drive. all for around $700. i hear you can't get one with less than 2 gigs of ran now, 3 being standard, so you should be fine. just watch your OS.

The thing about that is, I have really, reeeeeally bad credit. That's why I'm trying to just find someone who has one that I can just pay for in cash or by money order or PayPal. Would any store sell me one with such bad credit?

it's possible, you'd have to see. you most likely wouldn't get a good one second hand though

I have machines to fit all budgets.
Although you should probably find someone else because you'd hav to pay shipping to america.

Hi there,

I can sell you one at a very reasonable price. I don't care about credit.

I'm the owner of Waldorf PC, and we specialize in building laptops along with troubleshooting and repairing computers. We can build you one cheaper than you'd spend at Best Buy. We are not just saying that because they are our competitors. We mean it.

How much are you looking to spend? I'm just wondering since we usually start at around five hundred dollars. Get in contact with me, and we can arrange something. My phone number is 301-535-3733. That is the office by the way. Also, we do accept paypal, which should work out for you perfectly.

Hold on, stores only care about your credit if you are going to buy stuff from them on installments. If you go to Bestbuy and pay with cash or your credit card they do not run nor care about your credit. That's no different from anyone you buy from. I doubt that someone is going to sell you a laptop on installments online either.
You can get laptops for pretty cheap through www.buy.com www.circuitcity.com or www.newegg.com, I am sure you can get one in the $400 range thatis decent, or you can discuss deals with people who posted above. But I am just saying credit's got nothing to do with your buying unless you are going to borrow money from the seller and then it hardly matters whether the seller is a store or someone on the internet.
cheers

Wow, I haven't looked at this topic in forever!

I still haven't gotten a laptop, but I'm hoping to have close to $700 by the end of the year with which to buy one. Wildebrew, thanks for the info. that's very good to know!

Becky
